Pipits Retreat is a very restful holiday cottage set on a former working farm in the Blackdown Hills AONB. It’s a lovely place to stay for family holidays in Devon, walking breaks and weekends away with friends.

In days gone by this was used as a grain store, bustling busy at harvest time. A sympathetic conversion retained the hefty stone walls, old timbers and original window openings; it all works so well with the light and airy feel and the modern interiors. The ground floor is mostly taken up with an open plan kitchen, dining and living space, upstairs are the two en suite bedrooms – one with a bathroom, one with a shower room.

Wander down across the field for a paddle in the River Luv, come back and fire up the barbecue if the weather is good. In the winter return from walks on frosted fields to the warmth of the fire. Within a short drive there are market towns to explore, award winning family attractions, excellent places to eat and the beaches of the East Devon coast.
